SMART CITY Yspertal

What's the solution about?

Microtronics’ technology enables the monitoring of water and electricity consumption and shows potential savings.

In the Lower Austrian community of Yspertal, the consumption of the most important public buildings is recorded using smart meter technology. The “Smart Yspertal” project represents the first important steps on the way to becoming a smart city.

Consumption can be optimised by monitoring water and electricity. If, for example, an unusually high power consumption is detected in the school at the weekend, a stored alarm call plan can be triggered automatically. The caretaker is informed by text message, can get to the bottom of the cause and turn off the light in the gym.

The generated data form the basis for optimising energy and water consumption. Inefficiencies are highlighted and potential savings become apparent.

The project’s technology is provided by Microtronics. For remote meter reading of the energy and water meters, myDatalogNANOamr is used. The readings are recorded every 15 minutes and transmitted collectively four times a day. These default values can be individually adjusted on the server interface if required.

The myDatalogNANOamr transfers the values to the EN ISO 50001:2011 certified energy management platform. Extensive evaluation and visualisation options are available on the Energy Server. With just a few clicks, the historical values are displayed in diagrams or the current, last measured values are shown.

Extensive alerting functions round off the functionality of this smart city application. Alarm call plans can be created for different times and measuring points. The responsible persons are notified by e-mail, SMS or voice call.
