Groundwater level measurement & pump control
The area around Zeitz has been surrounded by open-cast mining for hundreds of years. Only the lowering of the groundwater level with many pumps in the region made mining possible. In the last years, after mining was stopped, the pumps were switched off again. As a result, the groundwater level in the region rose again. To keep the groundwater level now at a defined level, new pumps were installed.
The myDatalogGauge records the current groundwater level. The gateway transfers the data to the online portal of UTK via mobile radio. The map provides an overview of all measuring points. As long as the dots are green, everything is ok. If a defined level is exceeded, an alarm is sent to the administration by e-mail and SMS. The rechargeable battery operation of the myDatalogGauge level measuring stations and the very long operating time of up to 10 years are the big advantages of the system.
